Munich Dinner 2025: Celebrating the best of the Rossallian Club
What a fabulous night it was! This January, we had the pleasure of hosting ORs at the Munich Dinner, an event that brought together old friends and new connections in the vibrant heart of Bavaria. The evening unfolded in the stunning König-Ludwig private dining room, where guests enjoyed a wonderful three-course buffet complemented by unlimited Bavarian beer, German wine, and a selection of non-alcoholic drinks. The menu featured Bavarian classics such as Schweinshaxe, rotisserie chicken, and the world-renowned Kaiserschmarren, a culinary highlight of the evening.
Gillian King (President, Rossallian Club) and I, Kai Wagner (International Liaison Officer, Rossallian Club), were delighted to welcome 25 ORs and friends of Rossall. It was fantastic to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new friends, and foster lasting relationships.
Among the many reasons to celebrate that evening, we marked Thomas Schneider’s 25th anniversary since graduating from Rossall. Thomas, a member of the first International Baccalaureate class in 2000, has since built a successful career as a dentist, running his own practice in Augsburg near Munich. Rossall was one of the first schools in the UK to adopt and teach the IB qualification alongside A-levels, and Thomas’s accomplishments are a testament to the school’s forward-thinking ethos. We congratulate him on his success and his continued commitment to the Rossallian community.
The Munich Dinner was not just about reminiscing; it was also a unique platform for professional networking and collaboration. ORs from a diverse range of industries were in attendance, including consulting, sales, banking, academia, education, and entrepreneurship. Many attendees run their own businesses or lead successful ventures, showcasing the breadth of talent within the Rossallian network. The evening was a reminder of the incredible opportunities that arise from our community’s shared connections and support.
If you’ve never attended one of our events, now is the perfect time to get involved! Our upcoming Triennial Dinner at Rossall promises to be another unforgettable experience. For those unable to attend in person, you can connect with us on LinkedIn or visit our website at www.rossallians.org.uk There, you’ll find resources such as your year group ambassador, our mentor page, and the OR business directory featuring companies owned and run by ORs.
A special highlight of the evening was the singing of the School Carmen. This timeless tradition unites Rossallians across generations. As we sang it was heartwarming to see both older and younger ORs joining in, word for word, to this wonderful song that links us all through our shared memories of Rossall.
The Munich Dinner 2025 was undoubtedly a resounding success, and we eagerly look forward to welcoming even more of you next year.
