Graduate of Selwyn College, Cambridge, Hugh came to Rossall in September 1971 as Head of Economics, from St Bartholomew’s Grammar School in Newbury.
In September 1980, Hugh became Housemaster of Maltese Cross House, a post he held until 1992, after which he continued to teach Economics and Business Studies until he retired from the school in 1998. Following that, Hugh joined the staff of Ellesmere College, where he worked part-time for a few years in the Games Department, continuing with the hockey and cricket which he had also enjoyed at Rossall.
Hugh died on April 2nd aged 81. His funeral will be held in St Dunawd’s Church, Bangor-on-Dee, at 2pm on Tuesday 13th May.
