The East Window is dedicated to the memory of Christopher Buckmaster (Pelican 1952 - 1957).
Rossall School is proud to honour the remarkable generosity of Christopher Buckmaster (Pelican, 1952–1957), whose legacy gift has enabled the restoration of the East Window in Rossall Chapel. The East Window, a focal point of the Chapel and a symbol of Rossall’s spiritual and cultural heritage, has been carefully restored thanks to Christopher’s bequest. His decision to include Rossall in his will reflects a deep and enduring connection to the school, a place that helped shape his life, and which he, in turn, has helped preserve for generations to come.
For many Old Rossallians, the Chapel is a special place. Legacy gifts like Christopher’s help Rossall maintain its historic buildings, provide bursaries and support long term priorities. These gifts are an essential part of ensuring the School’s continued strength and sustainability. Christopher's support reflects the deep connection many Old Rossallians feel to the School and shows how one individual can make a real difference. We would like to invite fellow alumni to consider leaving a legacy of their own. By remembering Rossall in your will, you help secure the future of the School while becoming part of a tradition of giving that spans generations.
