Former Rossall pupil Erin Bradbury (Wren 2018–2020) has been selected to represent Northern Ireland in fencing at the Commonwealth Games, taking place in Lagos, Nigeria, this August.

Erin will compete in both the Senior Women's Individual Épée and Senior Women's Team Épée events and has also been appointed Women's Épée Captain for the Northern Ireland squad.

Reflecting on her journey to international competition, Erin credits her time at Rossall as an important part of her sporting development. During her time at the school, she was a member of the Rossall Pentathlon Academy, where fencing formed a key part of her training programme.

Representing Northern Ireland on the international stage is a significant achievement and marks an exciting milestone in Erin's fencing career. However, as is often the case in amateur sport, athletes are required to fund a substantial proportion of the costs associated with training, travel, accommodation, and competition.

To help meet these expenses, Erin has launched a fundraising campaign and is appealing to the Rossall community for support as she prepares for the Games. Members of the Rossall alumni network who would like to support Erin's journey can find further information and contribute via her GoFundMe page:

Everyone at Rossall wishes Erin the very best as she prepares to compete in Lagos and represent Northern Ireland at the Commonwealth Games.
