From The Archives |
In July 1994, on the occasion of our 150th anniversary, we were honoured with a visit to the school from Queen Elizabeth II.
In true Rossall fashion, being hospitable, 3 bottles of the French fortified wine Dubonnet were purchased as the Queen's favourite tipple was Dubonnet and gin. The Queen had almost certainly inherited this from her mother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, whose favourite drink was also Dubonnet and gin.
Of the 3 bottles that were bought, only one remains and it is now safely stored in our archive after being rescued from the back of a storeroom in the school kitchens.
